MBA (Maritime Management) - University of Wales
- The University of Wales MBA programme is designed to equip you with essential modern management skills and knowledge and prepare you with an enterprising spirit grounded on solid business practices. The programme also aims to provide you with analytical and decision making capabilities in order to face different kinds of new challenges resulting from the rapid changes seen in today’s growing Maritime environment. You will study tools and techniques that will help you develop and manage products and services that will be competitive internationally.
- Duration: One year
- Entry requirements: undergraduate degree from an approved university, plus at least two years’ professional full-time work experience.Applications from mature candidates without an undergraduate degree are welcomed provided they can demonstrate a minimum offive years professional management experience supported by references covering the five year period. English ability equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.5, for overseas candidates who have not previously studied in English. Please note that a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree alone (without an undergraduate degree or 5 years managerialwork experience) will not be sufficient to allow entry to this programme.

- MBA (Maritime Management) - Course details
ICM Diploma in Maritime Management (DMM)
- In addition to providing a comprehensive knowledge of each of the major business and maritime functions, the structure of the course ensures that students have the widest possible range of career, employment and higher education options open to them on successful completion of their studies
- ICM Diploma equates to level 1 of a degree. Allows direct entry into level 2/year 2 of an appropriate Honours degree programme.
- Duration: Six months
- Entry requirements: The Institute operates an ‘Open Access’ policy in respect of many of its vocational programmes but prospective students should note that the following entrance qualifications are recommended for those wishing to undertake the ICM Diploma programme:
- One GCE A-level plus Three GCSEs (or equivalents)
- A relevant ICM Certificate award
- Any qualification equivalent to one or more of the above.
- The minimum age for registration for this programme is 18
- Applicants over the age of 20 who do not hold one of the recommended entrance qualifications may also register for the programme providing they have been in fulltime employment for a minimum of two years.
- Exemptions: Students holding relevant recognised qualifications from other professional bodies may apply for exemptions on a subject-for-subject basis. Documentary evidence is required before any decision can be made.

ICM Advanced Diploma in Maritime Management (ADMM)
- In addition to providing a comprehensive knowledge of each of the major business and maritime functions, the structure of the course ensures that students have the widest possible range of career, employment and higher education options open to them on successful completion of their studies
- The ICM Advanced Diploma equates to level 2 of a degree. Allows direct entry into level 3 (final year) of an appropriate Honours degree programme.
- Duration: Six months
- Entry requirements: The Institute operates an ‘Open Access’ policy in respect of many of its vocational programmes but prospective students should note that the following entrance qualifications are recommended for those wishing to undertake the ICM Advanced Diploma programme:

- A suitable BTEC National Award
- Any Shipping/Maritime qualification equivalent to one of the above.
