Postgraduate Diploma in Shipping Management

Summary
  • This course is for students who seek a senior executive position in any area of the maritime industry, including port and shipping sectors or contemplate continuing on to the MBA (Maritime Management).
  • Duration: One academic year (September to July or January  to December )

  • Entry requirements: Holders of the Diploma in Shipping Management of LIST at credit level, or, Holders of the Diploma in Transport Management at credit level, or, Membership of the Chartered Institute of Transport (students who have this qualification may have passed by examination, or by approved exemption), or, Higher National Diploma (BTEC) in an appropriate discipline, or, Graduates in appropriate disciplines (e.g. Commerce, Economics, Engineering Science, Geography) of approved universities, or, Mature candidates with relevant experience in an area of shipping may also be considered.
  • Fees:   2 payments of £2,500 and £2,900 or  1 payment of £5,100
Program Structure Throughout, the emphasis of the course is on analysis and the application of knowledge and skills gained to the resolving of real life problems. Additionally, students are expected to undertake research as part of the project they must submit on completion of the course. 

A Project of a minimum of 6,000 words must be submitted at the end of the course. Tutorial guidance will be provided for project work.
